Our Chef
Chef Sanse Jeana
Sanse is operated by a team of family members who originated from the Philippines.
For most Filipino moms (also moms from other Asian countries), training in the kitchen begins in their very young age. And starting her own family makes the kitchen her permanent workplace. Informally, culinary arts becomes her full time profession. Even to some, their obsession.
SANSE Filipino Cuisine is named after Sanse Jeana. Sanse is the title given to the
fourth female sibling in the family from some regions of the Philippines. She doesn’t turn the wheels of the food truck but fires the hot plates and gets the operations ready for the day's first guest. She is not a professional chef and culinary is not her profession. But her experience credential states she started as kitchen helper at age 5 and was an assistant cook until age 23, besides being a career woman with full-time job. From that age, she became the house cook for the next 35 years; cooking for her own family, for student boarders in Manila colleges, for workers in their small factory and back to the family upon arriving at Los Angeles in 1995.
For several years now, she’s been delighting peoples of different communities with her signature home-style cooking on site. Words about her flavorful dishes and delicacies had spread out to nearby cities. Many friends, both local and out-of-state, have tried and are now a testimony of Sanse’s culinary talent and integrity.
Try her out in our next stop and be one of the many who says “Sanse can cook”.
